THE PLACE

In the canton of Valais, Zermatt is a well-known destination for skiing in the winter as well as for hiking and more in the summer. A high quality of accommodation and catering, a car-free village, high mountain peaks all around and the Matterhorn, a legendary mountain that is recognizable among all… we dive here in an atmosphere like no other! It is a unique destination that is discovered through the seasons and especially from May to October:

• In spring, the snow is still there, but with longer days and rising temperatures, it’s time to swap skis for bike and hiking equipment, for example! Nature awakens and with it, endless possibilities of excursions in the mountains.

• In summer, at the foot of glaciers, in the green pastures, on the shores of mountain lakes… the Alps are waiting for you! Zermatt is home to 38 summits at an altitude of more than 4000m that you can explore on foot, mountain biking, climbing, etc. to enjoy the fresh mountain air and breathtaking views.

• In autumn, you can enjoy the beauty of nature: larch trees are adorned with their most beautiful colours and the sky takes on its purest azure hue. The mountain is only splendour and it is an incredible time of year to enjoy it.

High Mountain

Zermatt’s unmissable peaks are not lacking.

. Among them, the Breithorn can be a great experience, «My first 4000m», on top of the Klein Matterhorn. A memorable ascent supervised by professionals, ideal for joining a team and sharing intense moments.

. For a less sporty but just as intoxicating outing, a train takes passengers directly to the top of the Gornergrat and its rocky ridge at 3000m altitude. There, a panoramic platform offers a splendid view of the Matterhorn.

. The Rothorn is also a great option for a magnificent panorama, with the Matterhorn in sight. It is a great starting point for beautiful committed hikes.
